We visited this pub on a Monday so it was nice and chill time . There staff was super friendly and nice. It’s a small place so I can imagine how busy it gets on the weekends or holidays. The food was good and well priced. Portions were great. My fav was the fries the seasoning was fantastic. I had a shaver burger which was super yummy we also got a the chilli fries and added chesse also yummy. My husband ordered the fish and chips it came with 3 good sized pieces of fish. Sorry no photos I was starving. But would 10/10 come back. Again this was durning the week I’m sure during holidays and weekends on season times it would be more busy.

For the reviews I was thinking we were gonna get some amazing food, but that was not the case. Our first night up at the lake and my birthday dinner we gave this place a try. We got a chili cheese fry appetizer which was flavorless and tasted more like canned tomatoes than chili beans. We all had something different (5 meals) I had the pastrami sandwich and it was ok I would have liked more pastrami because they used lettuce, tomato, and onion to cover the lack of meat and all of our meals had fries and they were rock hard ALL of them it was like eating those cheap shoe string fries way over cooked. The restaurant itself was nice very easy going atmosphere. Now when it came to the waitress ours looked like she just got out of bed and hated life!! I know it’s the whole lake days vibe and all that but at least brush your hair and act like you want to earn tips!

Alyssa was super busy, but she made sure we were taken care of! Shaver is a bit crazy on the summer weekends and Alyssa made sure we were taken care of. Thank you so very much! Food was great!

Loved the atmosphere of this place! It’s cozier than I expected and the bartender and waitresses were very personable. The food was delicious but the French dip au jus was pretty salty. We ordered one of the specialty Mules and requested Makers Mark but they were out of it. This place has high top tables and regular tables but no booths. There were couples and families there and I’d say it’s a great atmosphere for both even on a busy Friday night. There is also a jukebox (or whatever the fancy newer digital things are called) and music playing all the time. Overall great vibe and delicious food. Good people. We will visit again!

Good food. Love that the delicious onion rings were an optional side. Excellent waitress. It wasn't fast but nothing in Shaver is ...and that's OK. Good reminder we all need to slow down sometimes.

It's unfortunate when a poorly run kitchen can really degrade the experience of a good ski town bar/grill. I'd like to preface that the only reason this review is not a 2 or lower is the good service of the bartender Michael who managed the bar and half the tables. However, you can't ignore the poorly run kitchen. We had ordered 1 sandwich, 1 appetizer, and 1 Mac N Cheese for two for a light dinner after skiing prior to the dinner rush. Due to 1 take-out order likely just prior to out arrival, our order took about 1hr and 10-15mins to get to the table. While the pastrami sandwich tasted great as did the steak bites, the Mac n cheese was likely Kraft from a box with Parmesan cheese added and the garlic bread and onion rings were cold. For these reasons, I would be hesitant to return, especially with the price of going out these days.

Welcome to Shaver Lake Pub N Grub, a hidden gem nestled in the picturesque Shaver Lake of California. Located at 41782 Dorabella Rd, Shaver Lake, CA, this charming pub offers a cozy atmosphere where both locals and visitors can enjoy delightful meals amidst the scenic backdrop of the lake. Whether you’re winding down after a day of outdoor adventures or seeking a casual dining experience with family and friends, Shaver Lake Pub N Grub brings a satisfying blend of good food and a welcoming vibe.

One of the standout features of this establishment is its distinct menu, which has garnered mixed reviews, painting a vibrant picture of the dining experience. Patrons praise the Shaver burger as a must-try, crowned with flavor and generously portioned. The chili fries are another highlight, especially when enhanced with cheese, showcasing a dedication to comfort food that satisfies cravings. Customers like Tina Jaurique have noted that the fries' seasoning is simply fantastic, while others have lauded the inviting service from the staff, who seem to genuinely care for their guests.

However, not every dish hits the mark, as evidenced by Bobby R's experience with the chili cheese fries, which fell short of expectations for flavor and freshness. Such reviews remind us that dining experiences can vary and that every visit may bring something different. Yet, enjoyable moments shine through as other guests, like Kristin Dobbins, have enjoyed a comforting atmosphere with delicious food paired with lively music from the in-house digital jukebox.

Amid the hustle and bustle of busy weekends, patrons appreciate the laid-back ambiance, perfect for gatherings. The mix of high-top and regular seating creates an inclusive space for couples and families alike, allowing everyone to find their comfort zone. Joy Carlson reflects this sentiment, noting the pleasant nod to slower dining experiences, a gentle reminder that good food is worth the wait. While some dishes may be a gamble, the onion rings come highly recommended, proving the kitchen's capacity for delicious sides.

In conclusion, Shaver Lake Pub N Grub offers a unique culinary adventure in a charming lakeside setting. While you might encounter a few hiccups along the way, the friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make it a delightful spot worth revisiting. Whether you're craving a hearty burger or seeking a refreshing drink after a long day of activities, this pub embodies the spirit of Shaver Lake with its welcoming vibe and an evolving menu that reflects the heart of comfort food.
